It has been an especially wet winter in parts of Arizona. For us, this larger-than-normal rainfall has meant excess water accumulation in the storage pond at the Florence Copper facility. To accommodate the extra water and ensure future holding capacity, the company is temporarily increasing the natural evaporation rate using mechanical evaporation techniques.
People driving along Hunt Highway have been able to see these enhanced evaporation techniques in action. The evaporators disperse water into the air generating a visible mist or fine spray to increase the natural rate of evaporation. These mechanical evaporators are commonly used in agriculture, food processing, solar power, wineries and distilleries, and other industries such as mining.
Like everything we do, the use of evaporators is environmentally responsible represents no potential threat to human health whatsoever.
As always, if you have questions about the use of these leading-edge evaporation techniques or anything else, please feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to discuss further.
