Florence Copper Inc. awarded $2,000 in scholarships to Florence High School seniors at the school’s awards ceremony on May 15, 2018. Rebecca Rios, Florence Copper’s senior government and community affairs advisor, and Stacy Gramazio, Florence Copper’s manager of communications and public affairs, presented the scholarships that evening. This completes Florence Copper’s 8th year of the Creating Opportunities Scholarship Program. Students were asked to submit videos answering the following: “Imagine a world without copper. How would American teenage life change?" The winning videos are available on the Florence Copper YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/florencecopper. Each scholarship winner was awarded $1,000 to use at an accredited college or university.
Florence High School Recipients
Seth Yeo – Seth plans to attend Northern Arizona University and study business administration. Seth is a Varsity tennis player and secretary for the Future Business Leaders of America at Florence High.
Matan Utschen – Matan plans to attend Arizona State University and study mechanical engineering. He has been Vice President of Varsity Baseball at Florence High in addition to being a stellar student academically.
